The Des Moines Rehabbers Club

The Des Moines Rehabbers Club mission is to promote neighborhood revitalization and restoration of Des Moines' unique building stock by informing, educating, inspiring, and supporting each other in all phases of home renovation and maintenance.

What is the Des Moines Rehabbers Club

Monthly meetings – Each monthly meeting will have a different focus. Plans include: tours of “works in progress,” how-to sessions on renovation tasks like reglazing a window, informational meetings with city code officials, etc.

Special Events – “How to Rehab a House in the City” classes will cover the renovation process from start to finish.

E-Mail Group – Free e-mail listserve will allow members to ask renovation related questions, get contractor referrals, and make connections.

Web Site – The DSMRC web site at http://RenovateDSM.com will serve as an information clearinghouse for articles, project photos, links, and publicity.

ANYONE may join the Des Moines Rehabbers Club for free and attend monthly meetings or participate in the e-mail group! All you need is an interest in responsible stewardship of Des Moines’ unique buildings. We are here to provide support and encouragement for people who are undertaking renovation projects from repairing trim or replacing a toilet seat all the way through a gut renovation or full restoration project.

How to Get Involved

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved – we are looking for people with a passion for renovation and organization!

Join the E-mail Group (surf over to http://RenovateDSM.com and click on the “E-Mail List” link for instructions)

Attend a Meeting (monthly meetings will be held on the first Saturday of each month starting on November 3, 2007)

Help Plan Future Events and Meetings (send an e-mail to Steve at swilkeshapiro@gmail.com to see what is in the works)
