Postponed - Stay Tuned!

DSMRC monthly meetings are free and open to the public! They are typically held on the first Saturday of each month from 9:30 to 11:00 in the morning. Each meeting is at a different location and covers a different topic. We welcome people of all skill levels whether you are a professional general contractor, exploring options for redoing a bathroom, or simply want to talk about renovation with other interesting people.

Please contact Steve Wilke-Shapiro at swilkeshapiro@gmail.com or 515-710-3484 for more information.

On Saturday, May 15, 2010 Trinity United Methodist Church in Des Moines will host the first of a series of workdays in its historic sanctuary – the building cornerstone was laid in 1910. The focus for the first workday/teaching session will be plastering. It will begin at 8:00 am and end at 5:00 pm.

All skill levels are welcome:

  • Teachers - those who no longer have the reach but want to teach.

  • Plaster pro's--those who know what to do, especially in older buildings.
  • Plaster “wannabe pros" who want to learn about the craft.
  • Assistants – willing workers
