Iowa Center of Sustainable Communities is hosting the 3rd Building a Sustainable Iowa Workshop January 7th through 11th, 2008. We are excited to be bringing back Marc Richmond for the full week to do this professional training.

There is a free homeowner green expo and seminar on January 10, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

Speaker Marc Richmond, President of Practica Consulting, Austin, TX will teach a series of workshops for residential building professionals and homeowners. For more than 15 years, Richmond has played an integral role in green building program development around the country from Austin and San Francisco to Boston. He is the former manager of the Austin Green Building Program (the oldest in the U.S.) and the past chair of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED-Home Steering Committee.

Participants will engage in sessions covering various aspects of residential sustainable building. Those who take the class and pass the final exam at the end of the second day receive COSC recognition as a Sustainable Building Professional, differentiating them in the marketplace. Those seeking Continuing Education Credits may request a form when registering. Sixteen hours of Continuing Education Credits are available for the basic workshop, and eight hours of Continuing Education Credits are available for the advanced day.
