Exterior of the Mid Century Modern downtown Des Moines "Riverfront" YMCA building. This facility houses both a recreation center and transitional men's housing. The YMCA is exploring options for this facility that include tearing it down and replacing it with a new structure.

The Downtown YMCA was completed in 1959 with funds from more than 7000 contributors under James Wallace, President of the Board of Directors.
