Des Moines Rehabbers Club Membership Info
Membership in the Des Moines Rehabbers Club is FREE! Members can attend monthly meetings at a variety of interesting locations
throughout the City. From time to time, certain benefits such as discounts at local stores or reduced admission to DSMRC special events may be made available to members.
Donations to help the DSMRC (refreshments, web hosting, etc) are always welcome, but are not tax deductible at this time.
Liability Waiver
Members must sign a liability waiver.
The Des Moines Rehabbers Club (DSMRC) activities focus on construction and renovation. Construction and renovation related activities are inherently dangerous. DSMRC event participants and members must recognize the potential for injury to themselves which may result from participation in DSMRC activities and meetings. The DSMRC intends that participants and members expressly assume all risks and liability for any injuries to, or caused by, participants and members.

Des Moines Rehabbers Club E-mail Group
The Des Moines Rehabbers Club maintains a FREE public e-mail group for members to ask general renovation questions, seek contractor recommendations, and get advice on any renovation-related issue. It is free to join and open to anyone with an interest in renovation in Des Moines!
The e-mail group is hosted by Google Groups, but you don't need a Google id to join - you can use whatever e-mail address you want. However, if you already have a Google ID or use Gmail, you can join with that id to access additional features.

In order to prevent SPAM, new subscriptions are "moderated" and your first few posts are held for approval by a list manager. If for some reason you have problems posting or signing up, please fill out the RenovateDSM contact form with your name and e-mail address.

The Des Moines Rehabbers Club is an all volunteer organization, but there are costs incurred for meetings (refreshments), web hosting and domain registration. To help defray these costs, the Des Moines Rehabbers Club offers advertising space on RenovateDSM.com for a modest fee.

The Des Moines Rehabbers Club mission is to promote neighborhood revitalization and restoration of Des Moines' unique building stock by informing, educating, inspiring, and supporting each other in all phases of home renovation and maintenance.
What is the Des Moines Rehabbers Club
- Monthly meetings – Each monthly meeting will have a different focus. Plans include: tours of “works in progress,” how-to sessions on renovation tasks like reglazing a window, informational meetings with city code officials, etc.
- Special Events – “How to Rehab a House in the City” classes will cover the renovation process from start to finish.
- E-Mail Group – Free e-mail listserve will allow members to ask renovation related questions, get contractor referrals, and make connections.
- Web Site – The DSMRC web site at http://RenovateDSM.com will serve as an information clearinghouse for articles, project photos, links, and publicity.
ANYONE may join the Des Moines Rehabbers Club for free and attend monthly meetings or participate in the e-mail group! All you need is an interest in responsible stewardship of Des Moines’ unique buildings. We are here to provide support and encouragement for people who are undertaking renovation projects from repairing trim or replacing a toilet seat all the way through a gut renovation or full restoration project.
How to Get Involved
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved – we are looking for people with a passion for renovation and organization!
- Join the E-mail Group (surf over to http://RenovateDSM.com and click on the “E-Mail List” link for instructions)
- Attend a Meeting (monthly meetings will be held on the first Saturday of each month starting on November 3, 2007)
